Very good points there, Brummie. We can certainly credit the Brits with a revival of The Blues, or in this case Rhythm and Blues which is pretty much what Rock music is, when there seemed to be a stagnation in this genre on the Pop Charts.
But don't forget, even John Lennon, one of the chief reasons for the "British Invasion" during that time really idolized a certain white dude from Tupelo, Mississippi who really began the widespred acceptance of Rock and Roll about a decade before Mr.Lennon and his british cohorts garnered much attention.
And, Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys were basically doing a lot of Chuck Berry riffs and making it big just before The Beatles made their impact, also.
