Quote:
As names like Blind Faith, Yard Birds, and Cream and countless other successful British bands and performers came drifting by in my occasionally lucid mind, I began to realize that there was an underlying connection to these as well as just about every Brit band that achieved any real and lasting success or notoriety. I then recognized the same similarity holds true for American bands. I then rationalized that perhaps there are no great Brit or great American rock groups, and that there is only one true music greatness. That one true and undeniable greatness – that solitary link, that connecting thread, perhaps the DNA of rock music - The genetic link that connects rock music -Brit or American - to all other music life forms, past, present and future is none other than Eric Clapton.
Good point Barry, but if you're going to delve into the DNA of rock music here, and especially with regard to the great Mr.Clapton, I'd say HIS DNA musical roots are much more american than british.
As I recall, the Mississippi Delta is in the Good Ol' U.S.of A., and not in Ol' Blighty.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
