Me TOO!!! Getting excited!!!

I just did a map and emailed it to a few of you (Dwight, Derek and Ron) - Grand Canyon day - its about 330 miles round trip...Mapquest wouldn't let me link it here.

My thinking is to do the scenic ride route in the morning - its about 202 miles from Prescott to the Canyon that way (Jerome, Sedona, Flag and Cameron)(and according to Mapquest about 5 hours drive time - that doesn't give us much time for stops along the way).
Part of my reasoning is getting into the Park without a lot of delay at the gate. The gate/entrace at the South Rim (Tusyan) can get VERY crowded on a weekend day with sometimes hours wait, but the entrance on the "east" end from Cameron ususally does not get the crowd going in - but that is the longer leg/route.
Then come home south thru Williams and Ash Fork, lunch either in the Canyon or Williams.
I am going to contact my friend at the Canyon and see if they can do the tour at Kolb Studio in the middle of the day - not 10 am like originally planned.
Waddya think?
