Sounds good, Bud. At this time I'm planning on being in Prescott starting the 18th, so I'll see ya there. However I could be covered in drywall dust when you get there 'cuz I'll be opening up a wall inside the house while I'm there that week. (but don't worry...you can just tell everybody at the bar that I'm the Ghost of Southwest Triumph Fest Past!) I'll send ya a PM with my cell and house phone numbers.

A little early for logistics but we figure on getting there Thursday night. Gonna stay in that little motel down the street I was at last year. I forget its name. They have a pool so if the boy snores I can drown him.

Well I finally got Linda out on the back of the bike last weekend for the first time since last June, and she didn't have any problems with her back. So it looks like we'll be heading to Prescott in May. If you need any help Dwight prepping for the hoards of Triumph riders, just let me know and I'll come a day early.

Sunny and 44F here today. Tonight, snow. Tomorrow, snow. Tomorrow night, snow. The San Juans could get another two feet. I might not make the SWTF after all, at this rate they might not have the passes cleared by mid May. Oh, well, Big Bill will have plenty of drinking water this year. And Dwight, NO I DON'T want to hear about your weather.

Well then Mike, I'll gloat about the weather here in Tucson. Last Sunday it was 80 degrees, but it's only supposed to get up to 76 today.

Sure will Dwight! Now I have to get her trained to ride all over again. She's a bit rusty.

Well, before you go estimatin' the water level of Lake Mead and start anticipating those road conditions along the mountain passes of the Rockies this Spring...REMEMBER Mike, mid-May is STILL 3 months from now, dude!!!

You're close - a couple years too early.... The question to the unknown answer is "how many days till the SW Triumph Fest?" Any other guessers???
And I won't mention Milli Vinili again ... opps...
Its just all this winter weather hear has got me down, so I'm dreaming of biking and I thought if I counted down the days, it might help my DTs. Becky

83, Becky. And evidently that's also the number of inches it's snowed in Flagstaff so far this year too, huh?! (hey question...what weekend in March are you usin' the Prescott house? Is it the 15th?)

Yep - Dwight is correct, 83 days til SWTF!!!! And we have had more snow than that this year!!! And does not look like I'll be using the house in March at all - we all have too much going on!!! I will drop off some goodies the weekend of March 8th but won't be staying - I'll put big signs so you guys don't drink up the beer before we all get there in May!!! If it looks like we are going to get a girls trip put together I'll give you a call - don't know if that is going to happen or not - and could end up in April sometime.....we aren't very organized this year! Thanks Becky

Me TOO!!! Getting excited!!! I just did a map and emailed it to a few of you (Dwight, Derek and Ron) - Grand Canyon day - its about 330 miles round trip...Mapquest wouldn't let me link it here. My thinking is to do the scenic ride route in the morning - its about 202 miles from Prescott to the Canyon that way (Jerome, Sedona, Flag and Cameron)(and according to Mapquest about 5 hours drive time - that doesn't give us much time for stops along the way). Part of my reasoning is getting into the Park without a lot of delay at the gate. The gate/entrace at the South Rim (Tusyan) can get VERY crowded on a weekend day with sometimes hours wait, but the entrance on the "east" end from Cameron ususally does not get the crowd going in - but that is the longer leg/route. Then come home south thru Williams and Ash Fork, lunch either in the Canyon or Williams. I am going to contact my friend at the Canyon and see if they can do the tour at Kolb Studio in the middle of the day - not 10 am like originally planned. Waddya think?

This is very tempting for my first real long-haul ride from the general Seattle area. If I attempt it, it looks like I will have to plan on 3-4 days just to get down to Prescott, assuming the weather is good every day. Don't expect me to bring along any fresh wild salmon!! I might have to first get a windscreen and luggage before attempting it.

Steve, thats a 1400 mile run. Thats an easy 3 day ride. Maybe you can talk John into meeting up in Idaho and you can ride it together.

Ok - can't seem to attach a map.....or add a link for one....Mapquest's link thingy isn't activated yet and Google Maps I can't seem to get to work. My thought of route is Prescott, Hwy 89A to Jerome, and then Sedona and Flagstaff, then Hwy 89 to Cameron, and thenHwy 64 into the Grand Canyon, then south on 64 to Williams, then over I-40 to Ash Fork and then down Hwy 89 thru Chino Valley and back to Prescott. That will take us all day!

Becky, I've just sent you a reply to your email regarding this route, and in it I agree with your route BUT only in reverse. The plan at this time is to leave that saturday morning at about 8am from Prescott and head to Williams AZ, where we'll all meet up with Funkletrumpet and his girfriend, and then head north on AZ-64 for the Canyon at about 9am from there. The way I figure this route and allowing for a couple hours to mill around the Canyon and at your friend's museum, and also allowing for the occassional gas and stretch(and smoke) stops, and also a short stop in Sedona and Jerome, we should all be back in Prescott at dusk, about 7pm...a total elasped time of about 11 hours.
