For those brave souls who have a hankerin' to catch the beautiful vistas of mountainous northern Arizona, here's the plan for the second annual SOUTHWEST TRIUMPH FEST headquartered in the historic town of Prescott.
As I mentioned in Mike's "Dwight:HELP" thread in this forum, this rally will officially start on Friday, May16th, 2008 and end Sunday, May 18th. However, anyone wishing to arrive a day earlier and stay a day later than those dates is surely welcomed to do that.
My house there, for those those who will be in attendance for the first time this year, will once again be open and available for those who may wish to save a few bucks and just crash for a few night's sleep(but you'll need your own bedroll). For those others who may wish separate lodgings, there are many hotels and motels located within just a few miles of my home, which if you either Google Prescott AZ Hotels, or send me a PM regarding this, I could give you some suggestions about.
Friday will consist of a medium length ride of about 80 miles around the Prescott area, leaving my home at around 10am.
Saturday will be the "Big One": A ride to the south rim of the mighty Grand Canyon, leaving at 7am and taking about 2 1/2 hours to arrive to that Wonder Of The World. At this time I'm estimating that we'll spend about 4 hours there, and then return via a different route and be back to base by nightfall.
Sunday will consist of the shortest ride of the weekend(about 40 miles) leaving at 8am, so those who may need to leave that day for their return home will still be able to enjoy one final day of riding with their fellow attendees.
And so...as I mentioned in last year's thread...Are ya "crazy enough" to venture out this way and meet some of these terrific folks who you've communicated with all this time around here via this computer thing, or not?
(ya know...sometimes people are just a little different, and surprising, a whole lot nicer in person than they appear to be over THIS THING you're lookin' at right now)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
