You wouldn't buy a car with an air cooled motor would you?
Nope dont want a porsche,or a VW
But I would buy an air cooled twin bike rather than a water cooled. - Guess thats just me

I would love to have one when they come out ...I don't get some of the Triumph "fans" on this site. Triumph is about building a parallel twin....it sure looks like a bad ****** Ptwin to me. It's not a Vtwin, but it would just be another wannabe bike if it was. I'm not sure what you expect a Ptwin to look like-they already build the Bonneville line, so Iexpect itto be different in appearance from that line. As far as it being a copy of Japanese technology...the Japanese copied the parallel twin long ago. I remember spy photos of the R3 tour model and the finished product turned out very nice imho. This will be a beautiful bike when released as well. However for styling I would love to see a "softail" frame, but the radiator doesn't bother me- sorta like Honda doing a good job on the VTX 1800. Hope it is a 270 degree motor as well.
'05 TBA....Mulberry/Graphite....lot of chrome...904 BB from Bonneville Performance...gutted stock pipes...ghetto freak..19.5k miles...still looks new-but makes more power ;-)

What kind of oil should we use in them?
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Oil?! I heard that this bike is so advanced that it does not use oil! It absorbs slippery molecules from the air! Really, it does... It is a green machine too, made from recycled Hummer parts. I think they get 10 or 20 bikes from every Hummer they use. Runs on water that is recycled from your house drains to be even MORE environmentally sound. Will run all day on one tank of waste. Now THAT is technology.
I heard all this from a very reliable source, honest...

Yeah...I think I know that guy, Tony!
It might be the very same guy who took all of the money in my wallet playin' Three-Card Monty with him, and then afterward tried to sell me a deed to a particular bridge that spans the East River in NYC!!!
(turned out it was good thing I didn't have my checkbook with me at the time)

Good thing I have never posted a picture of myself here...
I have reformed since buying my Triumph, really! It has been a spiritual thing. I still do the old three card monty thing every once in a while, just for kicks
I have posted this before, and probably will again, but I really, really like 'ol speedy just the way she is. I have no desire to upgrade to a larger cruiser, although a Tiger or Versys or something of that ilk is definitely in my future. Then I could get rid of the fugly console, black out the front end, add gaiters, bob the rear fender, make her a solo seat runabout.

Howdy Folks. I talked with a seriously reputable individual today in regards to this subject. This person has an invitation to the Annual dealer's meeting that is coming up in July in England. He told me that in his conversations with the Triumph Product Development Manager, there will be 4 versions of the larger bike coming out this year. Did NOT say what size (1700cc-ish, maybe). I brought this subject up to him today saying "I've seen a picture of the 'rumored' 1700cc Triumph". He said, "Rumored? It's not a rumor. It's going to come out this year, in 4 different versions. The only reason it hasn't been out yet is Triumph saw Harley had a 6-speed, and Triumph wanted to put a six-speed on their bigger bike too".
I trust what this guy says. He never gave any credit to the rumors until recently when he talked with the head Product Development Guy at Triumph.
We'll see in July.....
I am happy that I am not the only one who has heard this. The 6 speed trans is a key reason why we haven't seen this bike yet. Well, according to the various 'seriously reputable individuals' who've commented on the bike anyway.
I also agree 100% on your comment on the multiple models. Triumph has made it part of their strategy to design a kick azz engine and make various models built around it. That comment makes sense and I've been thinking about that for quite a few months.
Can you imagine a 1700 set up as a tourer? Hard bags, fairing, and some body work? it would be nice. I've pretty much made the decision to stay with Triumph after owning and ride'n multiple brands. I am really hope'n this bike sells well for them.

Wait a minute here..."black out the front end and add gaiters"??? DUDE!!! I been thinkin' o' doing the same friggin' thing!!! (a man after my own heart here, folks) AND seeing as how I still, I'm sorry to say, have those cheap-a$$ factory shocks on it, I was thinkin' of finding some shrouded blacked-out ones of those too.(kind'a like the pre-'67 Bonnies) And I've never been that crazy about that chrome consol myself.(who's that dude Down Under whose taking care of this business right now anyway?...that's lookin' good) Gotta say...YOU might be right! And the other guy here who said you can always Big Bore our bikes and get a heck of a lot more power out of these babies!!!(You're right TOO) Ya know...Who NEEDS this new bike, HUH?! It ain't EVER gonna be as good lookin' as our's ANYWAY...RIGHT?!

You are right on there, 'ol buddy. I have the fully shrouded Hagons on Speedy. Absolutely classic look of the old Bonnies.
My "reputable source" indicates the new cruiser will, indeed, have the Hagons of which you speak. Honest!

I like the round "Mickey Mouse Ears" mirrors. I sure hope they keep those on the new bike!

I have had a couple. Wouldn't mind owning a Franklin Aircooled 6. I was quite happy with my Gruman with an aircooled O-360. That beast put out 180 HP at 2600 RPM. It was big too, had a 5 1/4 inch bore and it was faster than my Jensen Interceptor.
