Quote: It just plain doesn't make sense. You wouldn't buy a car with an air cooled motor would you? ............ No i would not, but i wouldn't by a water cooled car if it had the radiator, engine and water plumbing pipes on show either.
Actually, i have an old air cooled Bug. A 1972 Forumla V Beatle.
Quote: Yep some watercooled bikes do look ugly, but you are being shortsighted. As I've said in the other thread over this, this is NOT THE FINAL BIKE.
No its not shortsighted. Fact is that "IF" this is going to be a water cooled bike then its a 99% probabilty that the radiator will be out front of the engine hanging on the downtubes, and no matter how hard you try you cannot hide it. Unless you cover the bike in body work the ugly rad' will be out front for everyone to see.
To the best of my knowlegde i can only think of one company who successfully managed to hide a water cooled bike's radiator from view and that was Bennelli on the Tornado bike. The radiator on that is under the seat. A very clever design, particually when you take into account they didnt have to hide it. The Tornado is a sport bike wrapped in a full sports fairing. Somehow i dont see Triumph taking that route.
