I replaced my DS tach bulb with a LED. I used an instument bulb from
Superbrightleds.com . It comes out the back. Twist a quarter turn and it comes right out. If I remember correctly, there is a rubber plug in the back of the tach, pull that out, and the bulb is right behind it. I got a white one, but I guess you could experiment with different colors. I think it was a T1.5 74 base, I'll look for the empty package when I get home. The stock bulb was way too bright at night, the LED is perfect.
