Linsey - nickname Linsifer.
Named for one of my dearest friends ever. Actually all of my vehicles have ended up named after girls that I've actually known, and that the personality of the vehicle in question reminded me of.

Mine used to be Hannah, after a Robin Trower tune, thinking it was a girl. Then I realized it was a noble steed and renamed him Concord, after a quest for a cabbage.

I hadn't thought about it much. My old chev was known as "the Blue Ba$t@rd" I think once I get my bike back together this winter I might call it "Choppy"?

Well... Her name is Vera Lynn, after another English lady with a set of pipes that generally improved morale(Dame Very Lynn, the sweetheart of the troops in WWII). I thought it was original, but was wrong. There is another Vera who was first (see Moe). I was loathe to change it, so after clearing it with Moe, decided that a name given is a name given. Besides, I bet there are lot's of "Bonnie"'s.

I don't think I've ever named anything but one of my guitars some years back. I had a 76 Trans Am that my deer hunting friends called "400 Magnum" because one year I had a particularly bad time with deer jumping out in front of me. It was really funny because I don't hunt. They all had their guns such as, 45/70, 30-06 (thirty ought six) ect. and I got my deer with my "400 Magnum." The TA had a 400 cu.inch engine. When I talk about my bikes I refer to the Triumph as "my Triumph" or "my America." The guys at the shop call it "your Triumph" or "your America." At work they call it "your bike" as in, "Did you ride your bike today?" At church they ask, "did you ride your motorcycle lately?" I've got a Suzuki that I call "rice burner" or "my Suzuki" or "the 650." I had a Speedmaster that I T-boned an Isuzu SUV with. I no longer posess that bike but I think it is now called "junk" or "scrap." The insurance company call it "totalled." But I'll think about and may give "her" a name. She's a good bike. Never let me down. Always ready to go when I am and content to stay put when I'm not. She's a real beauty too. Mulberry Red and graphite with jet black hardbags and chrome side covers on her engine. Big ole crash bar and wind screen, polished handlebar ends and white letter tires with chrome wire wheels. But I guess most guys assign feminine gender to their posessions. Any suggestions for name would be appreciated. Take care and keep the rubber side down, the shiny side up.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

My 03 is called Florence - after the girl from the Magic Roundabout. I then had a loaner Speedie, that was called Dougal,it was yellow, the loaner Bonnie, Dylan, and the Thruxton, Zebidee as it springs off at the lights. The dealer knows about the names.... and thinks they're funny. But when the Speedie went for sale and was eventually sold they informed the new owner of the name... However the 06 is called Arthur. He is named after a good friend who left Bristol just before I got him. I trained with him at work and while I'm still in touch it's just not the same without seeing him every day. He left as his wife wanted to move back nearer her family (she's from Staffordshire) and he has no real ties to Bristol as he's from Uganda. He'd find it funny if he found out...

I get worse. When I bought the Kymco the dealer there said "What's her name gonna be?" I said "Probably Doris". So he said "When you get Probably Doris home....." So that is her name...but it's Doris for short.

For the benefit of my son it's called "MY BIKE"
Really it's 'Irene', sentimentally, in memory of my late wife who was beautiful, reliable and always there for me.
and....
Expensive to accessorise, needs attention now and again and I can't resist patting it every time I get within reach.
ahhhhhhh...sweet !

Was that one named for the character in Father Ted? One of my most favorite comedies ever!
My Triumph is named Auld Beastie, probably the last of a long and honourable line of bikes by that name.

I was working in the USA when it was screened in the UK so I missed it, but my family gave it rave reviews. When the main guy died and they couldn't make any more, I didn't think I'd ever see it.
Thanks to the miracle of the time warp called 'cable tv' (where you pay through the nose again to watch eternal repeats of all the stuff you saw free many years ago...)I heve been able to watch a few of them.
Yup, gets my vote as well

I consider both my motorcycles female, with their big jugs and all, but I will draw the line on naming them. My wife already thinks I spend too much time with them. Naming them might make things touchy.

After her very seductive ways she is Mrs. Robinson. Of course it took a long conversation with here in the garage with perhaps a few bourbons consumed along the way to determine this. Long, smooth with a certain way too her movements with that very classic look; I think that she is very befitting of this name.

My Fat Boy is Michele after my wife who put $5000 down to secure the bikes arrival (back when you had to wait to get one at list price). Sadly, she got sick and passed away before the bike came in. My Speedmaster is Counselor after my identical twin brother. He was an attorney whose screen name on this site was counselor. The Speedy was his. My Norton is Marvin after my dad. His name was Martin but Im called him Marvin. I hope I don't have to name any more bikes too soon. Someday someone will be riding on a bike called Chopperpaul, I hope it's a cool one!

Hmmm, I suppose that leaves Mary Anne (with the Shaky Hand) or Lily then as I don't recall the Acid Queen having a first name.

Oh HA! You know what I mean.
If I called her Lily, I would have to get that same paint job keith had on his pictures of lily drum kit. Hmmm.... That would be pretty cool.
As it is, since you are refering to a Who theme, I am looking to get some RAF roundel decals to apply to the bike to give it somewhat of a MOD appearance, however that would be a bit of an oxymoron since MOD's were strictly against Rockers and their Triumph motorcycles.

What are you thinking. Painting a target on your bike...strewth. Im sure you are well aware of the Quadrophenia movie. Need i remind you of what the triumph boys would do to anyone wearing a target and riding a vespa.

Well, ya know, I was thinking about this very thing recently, and decided because she's very good at bombing down the boulevards around here, AND because she seems to prefer men riding her(that's me), I'd name her The.....(drum roll, please).....Enola Straight! HEY! YOU ASKED!!! (actually...I have no name for IT, other than "The Bonneville America"...I'm sooooo unimaginative, aren't I?!)

I usually call him the "new bike" (02 BA) to distinguish him from the "old bike", my custom 57. I do kinda envy you guys with neat names for your steeds. I have always thought of my bikes in the male gender, contrary to popular thinking. I'm gonna think about this some more, though.

Yeah Like Thomwill says. however eyes have twos. "We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when But I'm sure we'll meet again some sunny day" Immortalized in Dr. Strangelove as the atom bombs and Slim Pickens fall through the sky one recalls this melody, "Keep smiling through, just the way you used to do Till the blue skies chase the dark clouds far away" And as Pink Floyd ask: Does anyone here remember Vera Lynn. "A dreamer of pictures I run in the night You see us together, chasing the moonlight, My cinnamon girl." Was sure chasing moonlight that evening!
