Well, looking for a bike to replace my wrecked America. I've grown to trust and value everyone's opinions here so I thought I'd post what I found to get opinions. I was looking for another Triumph when I ran across a GREAT deal on a BMC Bobber. It's a new (65 miles) 06 BMC Bobber for $10,000. These things normally cost $16,500 new. Anyone heard of these? Anyone have any opinions of the RevTech 88 engine? You can find specs on it here, http://www.bmcchoppers.com/bmc2007/base_content.html. It's in flash so you'll have to browse to the Bobber 88. Let me know what you think!

I'd love it if my local dealer carried them. Make it a lot easier to get it serviced. I may have to stop by and show them the bike.

Not a thing wrong with that motor, cool bike, good price. I say buy it.
80ish HP and 90lbs of torque should get out of its own way. I would paint the tins though, I think they make the bobber only one color. Could be wrong.

Nice looking bike. Revtech engines are good, not quite the quality of S&S but they aren't as stressed, so they stay together at least as well. With the spring loaded seat, you will find the ride isn't as hard as you might expect, but it will take at least 2 blocks to get used to the seat not following the movement of the bike. And, the price is right.

Yeah, it costs more than I wanted to spend but it's pretty much exactly what I've been looking for and it's such a great deal I don't think I can pass it up. Too bad there's not a forum dedicated to it like this one.

I like the looks, very old school and simple. Price seems a bit steep for a concept that is very spartan, though.

I'll echo that and add that for my personal taste I don't like an over the fender sissybar if there is no passenger seat and not likeing the tail light location. Looks like an Evo stripped down to me that someone slapped a Sportster tank on. Sorry I am not really fond of it. I do see potential but for the cost you shouldn't need to change things. What really matters though is if you like it and like it enough to justify the cost.

What cost is too much to ever have to change things?
I think the initial cost has very little to do with people doing personal things to their bikes.

Very nice! Do you own another bike? Ride long distances?
It looks great but I wouldn't personally have a hardtail as my only bike unless I was just into bar hopping around town.

I wasn't speaking of personal touches I was thinking of things that to me simply look wrong. My Speedmaster to me looked fine the way it was when I bought it,nothing really out of place. That bike has a few things that look out of place to me. I could have ridden my Speedmaster and been happy with the look but I can't say the same for that bike. Thats what I meant. I have changed quite a few things on my bike and every bike I have ever owned. But thats not because I thought anything was really out of place or looked bad but only to make it mine.

I like it exactly like it is and really wouldn't make any changes at all. I don't ride long distances really. 2-3 hours max. My girlfriend does ride with me on occasion but just on short half hour rides. Even so, I'll have to figure something out to make riding on a pillon half way comfortable.
As far as costs go, I couldn't find a new bobber that was anywhere close to what this costs ($10,000). Seems like everyone that makes them charges an arm and a leg. I don't think I could build this bike for much cheaper than it is tell you the truth.
I used to have an 2006 America before someone pulled out in front of me.

see slap a pillon seat on there and the sissybar no longer looks out of place to me. Move the tail light down along side near the axle and you've got something then.

Great looking bikes and I've only ever heard good things about them, just wish they sold them down here. My Kawasaki Bobber I've just built looks very similar to it, so obviously the styling suits me

I love bobbers, slowly transforming my speedy into one. As far as long distances, ever hear of the El Diablo run? Most of those guys are riding rigids thru some of the worst roads in Mexico. As far as price goes, it's a great price for that bike. Sucker Punch Sally's start at around 20g's, Flyrite is now making one at around 16g's. I don't care much for the bars or the front end but that's just me. Hope you enjoy it.
