Wait a minute ... it actually took off, I'm guessing that didn't 'benefit' from a Lucas starter then.
Shock! They went abroad

Ok Soren ... first - Richard Hammond says "jolly expensive in his first sentence (WAY too 'British') .. Second, he goes on to introduce the Reliant Robin!!

At this point, I used my 'back' button to post this!!!

In the Reliant's defence (it has one??) .. in the UK, it can driven by someone who only has a motorbike license.
Many years ago, my then brother-in-law drove a few of these on his motorbike-only license when he couldn't take a 12-year-old-me out on his Suzuki GT250 ...

I suppose you could at least get your groceries and stay dry ......

No, I'm stuck for any other benefits!

But, they made a space shuttle out of that little odd Reliant Robin. Kind of cool actually.

I have to say I think those blokes on Top Gear are pretty clever and often very entertaining.

(but I'll NEVER FORGIVE that big lumpy dude who looks like the Pillsbury Doughboy who put the FORD GT on the "extreme uncool side" of that stupid board o' his a while back....for a brit he's kind'a clueless sometimes, ain't he?!)

(HEY! NEWSFLASH, you fat-"AR$E"!!! Put the new CORVETTE against that Lotus AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN....duuuuuude!!!)

So, you're sayin' that by him putting that fantastic vehicle on THAT side of his board, he was utilizing that time-honored...sorry...time-honoUred british tradition of subtle humor...errr, humoUr and was in fact making himself sort of the butt of his own JOKE???

Well, WHADDAYA know!!!

(though he still needs to eat less bangers and mash a few more apples and oranges and quit comparing the two...Mustang vs Lotus...gimme a BREAK!!!)

Try living in Birmingham ! The arrogant a$$hole's 'show' that made him rich and famous was made in Brum yet he takes every opportunity to mock the people, the city and our industry.

The mini-dicked morons who stand around the studio adoring the twat are the sort of people who cheer when he says that " (all) motorcyclists should be shot in the face" and when he sees a Bike lane splitting - legal in the UK, he says that (cagers) should "open your door at the last second and see the fear in their eyes".

Still the big headed load mouthed prick got his just reward..

Clarkson becomes ID theft victim
January 7, 2008
Web User

Credit card fraud in the UK has risen by 26 per cent TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has admitted his embarrassment at becoming a victim of ID fraud.

Writing in his Sunday Times column, Clarkson admitted he'd been foolish to print his bank details in a previous issue, where he described the loss of two discs containing information about 25 million UK citizens as a "storm in a teacup".

Clarkson had initially said that anyone who wrote a cheque was giving the same information away and that all anyone would be able to do with it was pay money into his account.

But after someone used his bank details to set up a £500 per month direct debit to a diabetes charity, Clarkson admitted he'd been rash.

"The bank cannot find out who did this because of the Data Protection Act and they cannot stop it from happening again. I was wrong and I have been punished for my mistake," Clarkson said in his column.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer person. I just hope the big time internet criminals can do his bank balance more damage.

Hey Geoff, here ya go, dude! I posted a "glowing" picture of my ol' mug a little while ago in this thread....
http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post284020

Tell ya what! Send this to the producers of Top Gear and see if my rather shopworn visage would meet with their approval to host this thing over here.

(come on, ya gotta admit, it's at least ONE step up from Jeremy's "visage", AIN'T IT???!!!...and lord knows I can be just as big a blowhard as THAT DUDE is, if that's what they're lookin' for!)

Oh YEAH, Geoff! I get that all the time!

(in fact, as I walk away from people who say that very thing to me, I also often overhear 'em say somethin' under their breathe like..."Man! Poor Tom's really let himself go, hasn't he?!")
