When shopping, I usually find the better question to be:

"Why not...?" which, as noted above, can best be answered with a test ride.

The only why not I could think of with my TBA was the chain drive, since my bike at the time had a belt. Now that I have had it a while, I have decided that I like the chain. It requires maintenance (according to most), but I kind of like that kind of maintenance, hands on the bike in that way every 500 miles gives me an a good chance to check brake pads, make sure everything is tight, etc. I am probably a better bike owner because she gets more than the usual pre-flight tire and electrical check before I take her out of the garage.

I have two dealers in easy driving range, so that was not a concern for me.
