Yup I'm thinking about it already. Actually thinking more that I should get it all done now while my mechanic is slow than trying to get squeezed in during the spring.
So mine is a 2002 with about 9000 miles on it. I haven't done much maintenance to the bike outside of brakes, tires, oil, etc.
So given the mileage and age, what should I be concerned with?
sehr danke, Kurt

My '05 has 24,000 on her now with no problems (changed out exciter at 11k), but no other "concerns". There are easy "preventative" things you can do if your bored on the weekends (like me). I put her on the jack, remove seats, tank, battery (place on "trickle"), remove, clean, and lube speedo cable (from bottom), and clutch cables, remove, clean and lube all fuses and re-install, clean and lube all electrical connectors, plug wires, plugs, etc...scrape 2 pounds of grease from sprocket cover, etc....there's hours of things to tinker with....she has a way to show her appreciation, which is the best part...

Somewhere, buried within the site (and perhaps in the Triumph site - although I can no longer find it)is a schedule of maintenance items. Find it, follow it fairly closely and you'll find plenty to do and the bike will last a long, long time.

Besides the above recommendation which I highly recommend you do. I would change the fork oil if you've never done it. You may want to think about changing the battery as well. At 6 years old it's getting to the end of life. Also, ignition wires and plugs will be getting tired. You may want to order a set of wires from Newbonneville.com

Don't forget the brake fluid!!!! 6 years is a long time without flushing.

Being a 02 here is my recomendation
Oil and filter Fresh gas brake fluid brake hoses ( factory says every 2 years I think) really inspect the tires clan wax and adjust the chain lube every cable plug wires plugs fork oil lube every grease point you can find and fully detail the bike the detail will help you to find things you may have missed looking the bike over. Any dry rotted hoses replace, I also recomend puttign a inline fuel filter in just incase.
Dont like what you see??? Big red X in the top right of your screen will fix it!

Bingo, you hit 99% of the points. The brake hose 2 year interval is questionable but at 6 years a must. IMHO, I think the factory recommends 2 years because of liability.

Nothing. If you've already done the brakes, tires, and oil, that's pretty much it until the 12,000 mile valve check/adjustment. If you're not riding during the winter, you might want to put fuel stabilizer in the tank and hook up a battery charger.

Don't forget to check the torque of all available bolts, in accordance with the maintainence manual. You will probably find a few that are too loose, especially things like shock mount bolts, and engine covers bolts.
