I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that we are in the process of making a centerstand for the Triumph America. It will be black in color and the cost will be $259.95 + shipping per stand. I had your information here on file and wanted to see if you were still interested in maybe putting one on order. We are expecting the first run to be completed by the end of March. If you would like to put one on order I will need to get your complete name, address, phone number and a method of payment for the order. We will not charge the card until the product comes in and is ready to ship. I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Rivco makes some nice products, and are bike-specific, not a one-size fits all deal. Their customer service is excellent too. Good luck.

Kind of pricey for a center stand but it's worth it to have if you don't have a garage/lift for chain maintanence.
I can't wait to see what they LOOK like so I can decide on whether I'm gonna pick one up.

I still say the home made "$20" bike lift is as useful as anything for routine home maintanance.

I'll have to wait and see them when available, but I'm leaning toward buying one. I have a lift for my garage, but a center stand would be great on the road. It would make re-waxing the chain on a long trip a piece of cake, not to mention any emergency repairs, if necessary.

+1.
However, I would want to not only see a center installed, but observe it's operation as well.

I emailed Stephanie right back and said I would like to see one on a bike frst before I commit to spending that sort of money, especially with the import extras we pay here in the UK.
I think they will be worth there weight in gold on the roadside though..

I'd sure like a center stand but $260 is about twice what I'd pay. I know Rivco needs to get their R&D back out of the device, but I don't want to shoulder that burden. I'll wait until they have been out a while and see if they don't come down. For now, I bought a lift for $49 at the local Checker Auto Parts store. It was in the Sunday flyer a couple weeks ago and my America is pretty happy sitting atop it in the garage; at keast as happy as it can be, periodically looking out the open garage door at the piles of snow, and longing for spring... I'll go grab a snapshot of it with my iphone...

He came up and asked, "What are you riding?" I looked at him and said, "Triumph Bonneville America" and he got that 'hellz yeah' look in his eye.

Heck for $260 I would just spend another $30 and get the flat bed lift from Harbor Freight, it is regularly on sale for about $290 Lift 1 Or save a few bucks and get the one from Homier lift 2

A centerstand is not a jack or a lift. It is what it is. Don't friggin buy it if you don't want.

Yeah, you better get that lightweight Sears one if you're carrying one with the bike for emergencies.

For that kind of money I friggin won't! Might just weld one up myself if I decide I want one.
My point was that there is a whole lot more steel, moving parts, engineering ,R&D,etc..etc... in a lift than a center stand. They seem to want to make all their money back on the first couple they sell. There must be all of $10 worth of steel in one.

It is a bit high in price but I had a center stand on my Nighthawk 750 and it comes in very handy. I'll probably buy one if eveything looks ok on a bike that I'm sure they will show. But in the meantime the $20.00 home made one is working just fine.
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

Too much money. Built my own (detatchable) out of scrap metal for at home maintainance. Would be handy to have a permanent one for the road. Might be willing to spend 50 to 75 bucks but that is it. Sorry Rivco. Sell em' cheaper and sell more of em'. Make more $$$ in the long run. That applies to all accessories. :-)
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

It is a lot of money - especially to someone with 2...
BUT
If people don't buy it, it won't cover the cost of the R&D and so more won't be made.
I don't have a garage and don't have a place for a jack/lift. I have a stand that goes into the eyeholes in the frame that I use to oil the chain and clean the wheel every so often.
A centre stand would make my life a whole lot easier.
When I'm back at work I will look in to it - I can't afford anything at the mo.

Thinking about bike stands anyone got any thoughts on the 'old school' type stands as per this '52 Tbird. Seems to me it would be cheaper to make but would it look good or bad ? thanks - it's early 50's pre -1954

'72? Thats quite a bit older than that.Probably early 50s judging from the frame, tank badges and fenders.

My 3HW has those stands (it has one on the front too). They are hard enough on a smaller bike. I can only wince at the effort required to lift a bike as heavy as ours onto a stand like that....
