Yeah, I only need to work 6 hours tomorrow but I don't know if I'll make it. I'm leaving directly from work and I only need to make it to Freedom's house (about 320 miles). Gonna do one last load of laundry tonight and get the bike loaded up.

I. Can't. Friggin. Wait.

so....just thought Id bring up Monday and see what the thought is....
We talked about maybe meeting up for food and ride. Bob and I are locals so Im going to say were easy (bob...chime in if not).
FJ...are you still on your own on Monday or will Freedom join in?
Lots of choices for location and food.
Some of my favorites are:
* Ixtapa (Mexican)...there are a few locations we can chose form and plenty of roads to get there. These are all on the east side, away from Seattle metro. Low on the $ scale and great food.
* Dukes for chowder (only a couple locations). Alki beachmight be fun. Wed have to get thru downtown or we can go to the one at Lake Union. There are two more (Kent and Green lake). Id suggest Alki or Lake U. Id say its higher on teh $$ scale but great chowder. As long as there is no alcohol its not so bad.
* Roslyn...is a cool stop and The Brick is OK bar food. YES...the place form Norther Exposure fame. The ride is mostly slab. Im sure we can get some side roads in. Low $.
* Snohomish has a few good ones....
1) Picadilly Circus - British $ to $$
2) Buzz Inn - dive diner at the airport. Patio is awesome on a nice day! $
3) another place on Ave D...cant remember the place...mostly deep fried sea food. $$

thoughts? Suggestions?

Just got a call from Freedom. He's headed home from his bidness in Bozeman. My bike is loaded up and sitting out in front of my office. I'll leave here at about 2 and reach Freedom's house at about 6.

WOOHOO! IT'S ON LIKE A TELETHON!!!

Here's the lowdown for Monday food n ride.
FJ says chowder so chowder it is.
We have choices so if we met someplace and rode from there I think it would be a good idea. Assuming FJ stays at Bobs and Freedom is up in MtV I'm going to suggest we meet up at Starbucks in Issaquah (address to follow)(Bob, same place we first met).
From there we go to Dukes Lk Union or Dukes at Alki. Either way were on I90 into down town. I'd say Alki just to stay away from the downtown rush but I'm open to a difference of opinion.
From there we cruise through Alki over to Fauntleroy viw ferry then up the inside of Hood Canal and back via Edmonds ferry.

Dunno if this is more riding than was expected so again...I'm open to suggestions ideas...otherwise this is the plan.

We're here. We've got wifi but no cell service. Freedom's sweetie lives in a cell dead zone. She has to work on Monday so Freedom is joining us for lunch. Anywhere is fine, just tell us where to meet you. Linda's number here in Big Lake is in a PM to you soon. Call us tomorrow or we'll call you. I don't know what's on tap for Sunday but I figure I'll let those crazy kids do their own thing.

I hate typing on this tiny Nokia Internet tablet...

Heres the map to the "starbucks" in Issaquah I am talking about. If you guys slab it down here be careful in Everett...last time I rode through there were a few patches of graded road. Its been a few weeks though.

Now...be careful...there is a Fred Meyer with a "bucks" in it...right parking lot but not inside the Fred Meyer. Its a stand alone building. There is a Home Depot in the parking lot next to it.
FJ/Freedom...name the time. I live all of 15 minutes up the hill and Bob is closer than you guys are.

Big Lake is awesome! I love riding up that way. Im tempted to meet up with you guys up there
But the best chowder I know if is down here

I thinks we can find that. We're talking about taking the 9 down to the 2, then to the 203, then back west along the 90 to Sammamish Parkway. We hates interstates. Don't know how long that will take. An hour? Two? How long will it take to get to the restaurant from there?

On the down side from here to Alki is going to be slab...not really any other options. I also dont like the great slab but its a necessary evil at times.

I was actually thinking of coming up and guiding you in. Some cool roads from Snohomish south.

The route you have planned...bout 2 hours. Add a bit for morning traffic on SR9 south of Lake Stevens as well.
Once we get to Issaquah were looking at about 30-45 minutes.

We went to Anacortes today and got the ferry schedule. Two ferries to Sidney, BC: 8:15am and 2pm! They suggest reservations 24hrs in advance and we need to be there an hour ahead of time. It takes about 45min to get to Anacortes from here (obviously you guys are even farther away). Transit time is about 2 hrs.

I dunno. I'm on vacation. I don't relish the thought of getting up at 5-5:30am. Freedom is already whining . Think we can do the 2pm transit and still make it to Celt's at a decent hour? I'm going to check the ferry schedule to Vancouver. That might seal the deal.

Folks,
If you had a reservation at the Mountain Hound you are going to want to call and verify ASAP.
Seems there was some sort of electrical issue that may have caused problems with the computers.

The young lady I spoke tpo was Fresia (pronounced Fresha, shes the live in hotel manager). Very nice, very accomodating and really appreciated that I wasnt upset. Seems this is a case of honey vs vinegar.

Bob and Montana Johns...I gave her your names so she could look your reservations up and if she didnt find em she would hold space. So...a follow up call is in order.
Anyway....just a heads up.

I called and we're good for thu-sun. So is Bob.

Z & Bob, the place we're meeting is not the junction of the 9 and the 20. It's at 538 and 9. The junction is a roundabout in front of the Big Rock Cafe. If you're coming up the 5, exit at College Way (538), should be exit 227, and head east, past the college, to the 9. Same bat time, same bat channel.
