They have the same gel material sewn in as those neck coolers you see sold at bike events. I keep mine in my saddle bag in a waterproof bag with water in it. When I get hot, I pull it out of the bag. shake off the excess water and put in on. Instant relief. Takes all day for water to evaporate from the vest.
