JR - WHAT!!???!

Oh, wait a minute, I might be a traitor too....but I am DEFINITELY keeping the BA - she's my baby.....

I have put a deposit on another bike....gasp.....yep......

An '08 HD Roadking Police Speical.....its alreay here and just waiting for me to pick him up(yes I do think of it as a him....the BA is a girl.....) He wasn't supposed to arrive until late this month or early Feb due to ordering....but he's sitting in the local shop/warehouse.

Course I can't currently ride as we still have lots of snow on the ground which means lots of cinders on the road (we don't use much salt out here - good and bad - ciders are like riding on marbles!!!!)

Don't hate me!!!!!

The scary part about JR is that when you are sleeping, JR is awake. And when you're awake, he's awake too....

That's sounds vaguely like Chuck Norris:

Chuck Norris doesn't sleep. He waits.
When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.
Contrary to popular belief, America is not a democracy, it is a Chucktatorship.

A Vespa? And maybe an Italian suit and alligator shoes or whatever shoes the mods wore? Now, that's pushing it.

Hey! Whats wrong with a Vespa? I would like to add a nice old Vespa to my collection. I find them kinda cool in a geeky sorta way! Maybe Yota and I could go for some rides together on our vespas. That is as long as he doesn't try and spoon later!

(I meant the part about them being kinda cool and would like to add one to my collection then it kinda went down hill from there!)

I guess it's a mods vs rockers thing. Besides, after being exposed to "professional grade" scooters such as the Salsbury and big 2 speed Cushman, the Italian sort seem like a Fiat 500.

It's not a performance thing, they just look cool. I love my 64 BMW %50 too and that thing is painfully slow. It makes 24hp at 5600 RPM! It actually slows down going up hill with only me on it but at the same time I can hold it at 80 all day on the highway, that is as long as I don't have to go up hill!

Was it really love? I thought more of it as just a passing fancy. Kind of like the way a chainsaw and a log belong together.

So Yota, your question basically is....(in 3/4 time)....

"Tonight I own
-a Tri-umph

But fear you will
-say Hhrr-rumph

If I
-go buy
-a Honda for myself

Will you still love me
-tomorrow?"

Eeh! Don't worry Kid! Go ahead and buy that Honda, dude!

I've never been one of those love 'em and leave 'em sort'a guys like Carole King used to fear running into, ya know!

(yeah, I know that song was "before your time"...SO WHAT?!)

Well Ryan, you DO KNOW they DON'T USE that "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" slogan AMYMORE, don't cha dude???!!!

(this reminds me...I recently sent an email to Mr.Bloor and asked him if he'd like to use something like that old Honda slogan which I thought up to sell his bikes..."You meet THE most smart-a$$ people on a Triumph"...but his reply was that because of America's present "Truth In Advertising Laws' that might only be legal to use within the county of Los Angeles...and thus he passed on my suggestion)

The thing that used to amaze me was the kitchen help when I was in Germany. Young guys would ride over the Alps all the way from Italy to Stuttgart on mopeds to spend the summer working. Most of those will only go 30 - 40 MPH flat out and the brakes weren't much better than those on a bicycle. I can just imagine the total terror from behind on the uphill side of the mountains and on the way down there had to be a lot of foot dragging.

My first bike was a 58 Cushman scooter. 3 hp, automatic, 45 mph all day long. Mr grandpa gave it to me when I was 17 and I still have it!(gonna restore it someday)

Wish I had my first, it was a Morini Super America. Little kick start touring bike with automatic trans.Kind of a mini bike made to tour on in a city.I looked for a pic of what it looked like but couldn't find one.
