The whole idea about BP checking on my number plates fills me with dread. Does this mean that the whole data protection act is a waste of time. If BP or any private company has acccess to my insurance details or to information held by the government surely somebody where is in breach of this law.
We already have too much of a nanny state but to allow our personal details to be made available to private companies and individuals is a real step in the wrong direction.
I value my privacy. I stop unsolicited mail I try where possible to prevent my details being "sold" to mailing companies. Now it looks like the government is selling my details to big business. Its enough to make you want to puke.
