I love your ideas! Of course, this is coming from someone who has added celtic motifs to my bike. (you can see pics in the album section) Your right about the simularities in the artwork. The viking influance on celtic and visa versa has been well documented. If you want to go all out and be historically accurate, that adds to the specialness.
For my bike, I looked into the origions of the city where Triumph first had it's factory. I picked designs that were period to the beginings of that location. AND guess what, there was viking influance in that location. Ok, I'm rambling now.....too much coffee and a love for history...
