I have never been happy with the standard look of the rear turn signals on my America and want to do something a little different. Looked at the Turn Signal Relocation kit on newbonneville and British Customs, and on the BC website it says that it is not compatable with 07 and 08 models. It doesn't say any such thing on newbonneville (and am not even sure they are the same kit as one boasts 4" relocation of turn signals and the other 6"). Not sure why it wouldn't work on the 07's. I wouldn't think there would be that much difference between that and previous years.
I'd really be game for doing something creative with the turn signals and love the little turn signal bullets I've seen in some of the photo archives, where they've been attached to the bolts on either side of the fender, but I kind of want to save that spot for some saddle bags in the future.
I don't want to drill holes and I'm not gonna chop the fender until my warranty is way null and void, but I want to do something different than the stock set up. I'd love to hear what others have done and see pictures if you've got em. If you have some other alternatives to the turn signal relocation kit, I'm all ears (or eyes, I guess).
Also, I've noticed that the fender itself is recessed about an eighth of an inch behind both the turn signal and the brake light. were this not the case, I would be more likely I think, to really do something quite a bit different, But I wonder whether other set ups will work well, especially if they don't match up on that recessed space.
So I'm looking for the shotgun approach to my dilemma (lots of different options and answers). I'm open to anything at this point, as long as my mechanically unenclined mind can get it figured out (even to the turn signal relocation kit, if it will work on my 07 bike).
Thanks in advance!!!
