During the installation of the EZ brackets, one side went on with no problem. When I went to do the other side, the rear post was a bit difficult to get in. When I tried to install the bracket, it would not align. Upon inspection, I noticed that the post was angled upwards.

OK, remove the post and have a look. What I found was that the rear fender bracket and the sissy bar bracket holes were not properly aligned. Thus the post was beign forced to be angled upward.

Tried a few different things but the solution was to take out the trusty Dremel and ground the Fender support bracket hole to align with the hole in the sissy bar bracket. It wasn't much, probably 1/8" on the bottom part of the hole. I placed a thick piece of cardboard between the fender and fender bracket as a "stop" to prevent the Dremel from going in too deep and damaging the fender or fender threads. Installed the post (much easier to install without the side load). The post was now straight and the bracket went straight on.

Wouldn't been easier to put all 4 in then tighten a little on each one at time?

I have to agree. The "alignment" of the fender, bracket, and side brackets is not exactly precision. Replace one bolt with one ez bracket mount at a time. You may have to manually wiggle things but they will line up eventually. A dremel shouldn't be necessary.

Tried all of the above. The EZ Bracket fit when the left rear bolt was loose (or all the bolts were loose). As you tightened it up the misalignment between the Sissy Bar Bracket and the fender bracket would load the bolt and angle it upward not allowing the EZ bracket to fit. Keep in mind that the fit between the sissy bar bracket and fender bracket is dimpled (around the bolt hole) so as you you tighten it up and the cone shape of the dimples come together the mialigned holes place a strong side load on the bolt.

Well I'm about to install the ez-brackets on my bike so I'll tell you how it fairs.

My ez-bracket install took all of 5 minutes. No mis-alignment issues. Lucky me.
