Just saw this thread.

I would never want a man to sell his bike for wedding expenses. The vital question is always are women getting married for the wedding or for the life with her man. The wedding is just one day.
Like others have suggested, talk to your Beloved and see where you can cut corners elsewhere. The flowers wilt, the cake gets eaten, the invitiations are peices of paper that get thrown away. It's love, partnership and commitment to one another's happiness that is supposed to be the focal point of a wedding.

(But this is coming from a woman who ended with a man a few years ago who told me he didn't like me riding and wanted me to sell my bike.)
