In my area MC po-lice always initiate the wave.
I've gotten just as many waves on my 82 Suzuki. Seems like everyone I've met on any form of cruiser waves.
The crotch rocketeers are another story. Some do but most don't. It depends on the riders age or level of maturity and if he also rides or has ridden cruiser, or rides with cruisers. I usually just let them ride by unless they initiate.
