I have read this many times before. Its always interesting to read the 1% club rules.
In the section on RESPECT. Thats where things seem to get dicy eh. "No stealing from members" So it must be OK to steal from anyone else? LOL.
MC club rules ..especially those 1% interpretations are very closely related to those of prison gangs et al.
Jeez. I wonder why?

I don't know about this stuff, Moe.
I just sent an email to famed etiquette expert Leticia Baldbridge about this, and she replied that whenever she dons her Harley Girl outfit and sits behind Moose on his Fatboy, she doesn't feel that there is any obligation to wave to those riding Vespas, Urals(with sidecars), or those South Korean Hyosung motorcycles.
She did however say we should continue to wave to those riding Triumphs assembled in Thailand.
(about the whip thing she said those are for "other purposes", but of course with her being quite the refined lady, she didn't elaborate further on this issue)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

In the UK we just give a nod, or shake a left leg off the peg if overtaking. Nodded once at at pillion passenger of a HA group overtaking me to be met with a stony stare. Didn't frighten me, I was going to take the next off ramp anyway !

I wave to 'em all - scooters, mopeds, bicycles - you name it. Waves are pretty cheap, and I've got a big ol' parcel of 'em to give away. If they don't wave back, that's OK. Catch you next time. The sport bikers often seem surprised to get a wave. They must think I'm on a H... Oh, you know.
I drove a tractor trailer for 15 years. Almost every truck driver would wave to other truck drivers. I hear tell it isn't that way so much anymore. Before CB radios became popular, we had a number of hand signals to inform the other drivers what lay ahead for them.

I was in the St Louis El Forastero MC clubhouse for a fundraiser for a dying member. It was a special circumstance invite. There were other 1%er MC's there too. Galloping Goose out of Kansas City, El Forastero from Iowa, one I dont remember from New Orleans, Hells Angels From wherever. Nobody had a problem with the bike, either.

That whip one lost all credibility when I scrolled down and saw a * gasp* motorcycle cup holder!  One of the things I've always wondered about. Many of the older motorcycle clubs are accused by the government of conducting "organized" criminal activities. Obviously, they have never been directly involved with such clubs. It is a major effort to get a typical old style club organized enough to conduct a club meeting, much less for criminal activities!

I might be interested in the cupholder if they offered a matching cell phone holder. Otherwise the lines are all screwed up.

Dwight, I think I met Leticia Baldbridge. Another girl was asking about the safety of pearls and Leticia told her pearls were safe, but after a while she'd like a motorcycle chain better. Leticia also said that she prefered barbed wire, herself. No idea what they were talking about - bracelets or necklaces?

I got waved at by a pocket rocket today in a narrow lane heading back from the Bridge at Kirby Lonsdale. I put my left indicator on so he knew he could pass me I watched as he went by he just open his left hand fully, without taking it off the grip..
We are a pleasent lot of bikers in the UK

The huge guy standing at the door checking for proper colors is a good tipoff. 
Looking to see if everyone in the parking area has the same patch doesn't always work because clubs often have an open invitation to other clubs that are friendly toward them.

wow that's some interesting stuff! And good things to know too. I used to wave at everyone...but I got sick of not getting waves back..now I let them do it first...of course at the time I was also riding a Suzuki...

Is acknowledging coppers on bikes acceptable? I did give a nod to 4 of them on what looked like a training ride today and they nodded back. Actually, I was trying to disguise the tinted visor really!

Absolutely ! as long as you aren't overtaking etc then they can construe that as careless riding. In General they are guys like us who love bikes and biking but HAVE to turn out in rain, wind, sleet and snow AND do their cop job at the same time (and - a bonus - get well paid for it).
I was going down the M50 one Sunday afternoon and because there was nothing else about, I decided to give my TDM a blow out. I got up to about a ton and suddenly was aware of a big white and Yellow Pan European alongside. I was leaning over the tank and Mr Plod was sitting bolt upright and looking at me with a sort of puzzled look. I eased off cussing like mad expecting to get pulled but he just waved and blasted off at a high rate of knots ! A few miles later he was on a flyover with a speed gun !!!! and made a point of pointing it at me. I don't know if it was switched on but I was only doing 70 by then !

I would never miss an opportunity to wave at a cop on a bike. I've never seen one that didn't wave back.

In my area MC po-lice always initiate the wave. I've gotten just as many waves on my 82 Suzuki. Seems like everyone I've met on any form of cruiser waves. The crotch rocketeers are another story. Some do but most don't. It depends on the riders age or level of maturity and if he also rides or has ridden cruiser, or rides with cruisers. I usually just let them ride by unless they initiate.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

How about the highway? I see alot of waves coming from the opposite direction of a interstate, sometimes its just to fast to wave back, or I dont want to let go of the grip if its windy or in traffic.

Noticed that on this side of the pond as well. They are either 1%ers or wannabe's or SAS HD Riders
(SAS = Saturday and Sunday)

Arthur Veno wrote a good book on the psychology of 1%'s called "The Brotherhoods". It's amazing how just a few influences can change a pertsons life.
