Since it appears that there's no Florida Rally this year, Matt and I are having a serious multi-day bender in my garage this weekend.

So come one, come all to the glorious town of Westport, MA for FL Rally '08. There won't be any patches, but if I remember, I might be able to steal a Sharpie marker, a piece of paper, and some tape from work and we'll drunkenly make some totally sweet patches. Nor will there be any fancy rally prizes, but beer cans are returnable in MA, so whoever travels the furthest can redeem our dead soldiers for a pocket full of nickels.

Itinerary:
Friday is arrival and get drunk day.
We're going to assemble in my garage then go buy 30 racks of delicious beer. Maybe even a bottle or 2 of bourbon, who knows?

Friday night is get drunk night. We'll proceed to drink away our many troubles and if history repeats itself like all you smart people say it does, we'll get drunk, smoke lots of cigarettes, start our beeramid, and probably do stupid stuff.

Friday night is expected to end somewhere around Saturday morning. We'll all still be awake and that's when our daily adventures will begin. We'll have assorted liquor store rallies, and a tech day. For tech day, we'll all sit around and argue about what's the best way to build the previously mentioned beeramid until someone stumbles and falls into it. That'll either be me or Matt. The other one will get all mad and make outrageous claims like "haha...you're drunker than me!" But we all know that he'll be drunker cause he can't handle his booze.

After tech day, the economics session will begin when we'll realize that it's been 24 hours since either one of us has eaten anything, so we'll talk for 45 minutes about what's cheaper, Taco Bell, or supermarket-brand chicken nuggets. All this educated discussion will make us thirsty and we'll resort to drinking more beer and bourbon.

School's out! No more economics for the rally, phew! We'll celebrate with a surprise guest of that 1/4 bottle of Hendrick's gin I've had sitting around for a special occasion. We'll think about sleeping, but that's wasting prime drink session time.

Like most rallies, Saturday night will be the big dinner and festivities. We'll break down and order a pizza, but when the pizza never shows up because the delivery guy isn't too bright, we'll drink those troubles away too. Upon the end of Saturday night, which very well may be Sunday morning, we'll give out the award, which as I already mentioned, is all the empty beer cans. But this WON'T be until we finish our beeramid. It'll be so beautiful gazing upon all of those glistening empty beer cans stacked ever so drunkenly upon each other in a shape that probably won't even remotely resemble a pyramid, but hey...we're drunk. I'd love to see you do better!

Sunday...get the heck out of my house. Unless you want to sit around and have a few beers reminiscing about all the good times that were had at FL Rally '08. Oops...we just remembered that no patches were made, so we'll look for the paper, tape, and sharpie marker I forgot to steal from work. After a good hour and 4 beers, I'll fess up to forgetting them, so we'll get some leaves, a stick and some mud and fashion them as our forefathers have in the BA.com days of yore. Phew...that was a close one!

At least your organized.

Just saw this post...and its very funny. Hope you make it to the Georgia Rally.

Can root beer cans be part of your beeramid? Or would they ruin the geometrical structure of such a wonder?

only 1648 miles and nearly 26 hours away. I just wish that i would have seen this thread when it was started cause i would be pulling in right about now. is there ice on the roads up there yet and do i need to bring a jacket?

nah man...roads are clear, c'mon up! There'll be lots of nickels for your prize.

How did the rally go?

I don't remember all of it...but from the evidence left behind, I'd say it was a success!

Plus you got a pocket full of change!
