I don't particularly like the R3 looks either, but the Touring model intrigues me.
I have ridden a few VRods and that is one of the best motors ever put in a bike. BUT! the front end stinks. The rake is even more than our bikes and very close to "chopper flop". Seems unstable in turns, and will tighten up you pucker string. If you get one, ride safe, and stay on straight roads.
