Something doesn't sound right. If you order the mounting kit #MEM9907 (recommended for the America).... you use the shrouds. The clamps mount to the shrouds. I've used this kit and it works well.
The mounting kit that is included with the windshield that you're looking at, must be a different kit.?????????
