Second Battle of Bull Run. Day two, Jackson defends Stony Ridge August 29,1862

Quote:

On the 29th Pope's army found Jackson's men posted along an unfinished railroad grade, north of the turnpike. All afternoon, in a series of uncoordinated attacks, Pope hurled his men against the Confederate position. In several places the northerners momentarily breached Jackson's line, but each time were forced back.

For Real now,

The back of your pennies pictured reads, "UNITED STATES oF AMERICA," "ONE CENT," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This design was adopted in 1959, replacing one that pictured two stalks of wheat; it was designed by Frank Gasparro who died September 29, 2001.

All died at 27, I think. And, Pigpen.

As these numbers get smaller, I'm getting excited about this rally...Definitely ready to get away from here even for just a few days. Soon, will become

Wow this one took some research, I felt like I was doing a report for Ms.Shari, my English teacher. I finally figured out that "Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice" is the state motto of Michigan. It means "If you seek a pleasant peninsula look about you". That didn't help because it was adopted in 1935. Looking around some more I found out that The library of Michigan Foundation, today announced, that Eric Villegas- chef and author of the book "Fork in the Road" based on his cooking show, will headline the annual "Night for Notables" celebration on April 26th. It is a a tribute to all of the 2008 Michigan Notable book authors. Did I get an A, Ms. Shari?

26 Days to the Georgia Rally!!!

Or maybe it's just that on Jan. 26, 1837 Michigan becomes the 26th state...

Is it too late to make room for me? As chance would have it, I'm going to do some work in Atlanta for the next 2 months, and I'll be coming home every couple weeks. I can maybe ride down on the 29th, and have my bike there for a couple weeks, and that weekend, I could maybe meet up with everyone. This is all subject to change of course, as I dont really know how much free time I will have. But, if I can swing it, I would like to meet up with everyone and ride around and see the sights. Its only 550 miles from here to Atlanta, and only 65 miles from there to Dahlonega, so its in my mind to do something fun like that. this thread is like a bajillion pages long, so I dont have any of the details sorted out yet, but I'm interested. I just found out Saturday that I'm going, I'm actually waiting now to see when my flight leaves. I'll do some reading on the thread, and see what develops.
Later, Dave
