Getting near time for new tires. As most of you know, America's come with Bridgestone, and the apparent up-grade is to go with Metzlers that come on the Speedmasters. Seems I remember some talk in the old forums that the Metzlers are not only better all around tires than the Bridgestones but that the difference in the front tire size helped to correct the inaccuracy of the America speedometer readings. Anyone seen any real improvement in their speedometer accuracy in regard to this? Later, Stan

The ME880s I put on my America are a great upgrade. The front is larger than stock by a small amount and that may bring the speedo error down a percentage point or two. I haven't put my GPS back on to re-measure it yet. I'll do that this week and report back.

My speedometer used to read about 10% high, and now it reads only about 5% over since going from the 33 Laser to the taller Metzeler 880.

I mounted up my new Garmin 2720 today on the America with my still very new 880s. The speedo is now 9% off in place of the 10% off it was with the OEM tire.

Dang it man...now I'm wondering how many different results we would get on this if we had say 10 or more before and after tests on other Americas. Regardless, everyone seems to think the Metzlers are a big improvement over the Bridgestones. Thanks much. Later, Stan
