Very important that you stiffen them. I noticed a dinqua event getting ready to transpire regarding my Saddleman bags, so I reinforced them with plexiglass and can report that the repair worked as tested by a 4,323 mile road trip this September. Here is link to some photos of that repair. But in reality this repair should indeed be a pre-install modification for those of you that have yet to purchase the easy brackets.
