I got the aluminum one for the reason of lighter in weight.
To store it I used two short pieces of unistrut and hung it off the back of my roll-around tool box. I have used it about once per week for 2-1/2 years now and still working well. I wouldn't want to work on the bike(or wash it) without it at this point.
