I'll chime in. If it keeps you both out enjoying the ride together, more power. Sounds like the best of all worlds to me. Never been on a Trike bike, but rode a 3 wheeled ATV for backcountry work when they first came out. As mentioned the "dynamics" are strange until you get used to it and respect the limitations.
