I'll bet Jim here has a gauge somewhere to measure THAT too!!!
(sorry Bro...I couldn't resist that one)
Not a problem at all. Actually, I'm sure if I scrounge long enough in the toolbox I'll find it!
Would that be metric or standard feeler gauges?

what made you get rid of the 109 for a speedy? other then the chance of having tranny or rear end problems

Need you ask more? Those are EXACTLY why I dumped it. I didn't research that bike much at all. Had all intentions on trading the RoadStar in on a new Yamaha FJR1300, but got the M109 instead on a STUPID whim. Lesson learned!

could you please tell me about your oil psi guage? where did u get it, does it work well. Did you have to use a longer banjo bolt to fit the extra line through? did u make the mount bracket? Imitation is the finest form of flattery and I am impressed.
Frank is correct. It's a bolt on kit from Bonneville Performance. I got mine from a fellow Rat.net member in Australia. Box hadn't even been opened. Couldn't pass it up for $90.00 shipped!
I did have to procure a 35 deg banjo-3AN fitting to make it work, as the kit comes with a straight piece that really doesn't work well on the new 865cc motor. Other than that, it bolts right up & works flawlessly!
Ride safe, Jim

Thanks Frank.
Love the oil pressure guage, still in the "tweak mode" on the new rear shocks. So far, so good.
Thanks, Jim
Where did you get the oil pressure gauge?

Great looking bike, well looked after, well presented and tastefully customised.
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Why, thanks much mate! I've got a few other goodies installed now too (but the flash photography is terrible... all I could do at the moment.) Better pics to follow when the weather turns around!

Good luck with the stirrups. I could NOT get them to stop spinning down whenever moderate pressure was applied to my heal. Took them off after 1000 miles stopping every 50 to tighten them up.

Thats what I've read & heard. Hopefully I won't have trouble with them, but if so... oh well. They look great, and seem to function well in the little ride time I've got in. What really sucks is the HD versions are serrated where they mount to the "Harley only" type male mount. Why on earth they didn't do that for us or the metric crowd I'll never know..
Take care, Jim
Edit: Well, I now see they do make splined adapters for a lot of metrics, but not Triumph. I'm going to give Kuryakyn an email to see if they might offer some soon, as this would alleviate the "rotating at will" issue. I've got a set of HD stirrups I could use if they'll make me the adapters!

Thanks Fillo! Thanks Mike! I sure will be. Let's plan on getting together at Mid-Ohio. I missed it last year, but not letting this one get by in 08. Great ride today! Sunny & mid 40's, I got in a good two hours in the country. Great winter time therapy for sure!! Took a few more pics in the sun today as well....

I like what you have done, but the black real wheel ruins the rest of bike. The pic from Jan 12 she looks good.

To each his own. Don't be too quick to judge it, these pics suck. I think it looks phenomenal in person. I plan on doing the front wheel after this riding season as well... that should balance it out a bit better. As soon as the weather breaks I'll get REAL pics posted. These were just quick snaps after I finished the front end.
But for now, she rocks the way she is!

Far too shiny for my liking :P but something for you to consider, which I think would work with the other things you've done: put a full rear (and front?) mudguard on it like Indians or the Kwak drifter. Anti-bob it, if you like!! Perhaps someone can photoshop it to give an idea.

I agree, the all balck back wheel is a bit too much black for me. If the lip had remained a polished look like the front one, it would have nice balance.

You are crazy picky with the cleanlyness. But your bikes sure profit from it. That M109 was over the top shiney. I didn't even KNOW I could scorch my eyes over the internet.
The color choice of the Speedy is a perfect compliment to your fantastic maintenece. That bike would look like ****** if I owned it.

That blacked out back wheel looks great! I think I would get confused by all those gauges when riding though!

Those Oberon cats make nice stuff, don't they? I'm intrigued about how your preload will work out with our longish rake. Did you get the adjusters from a Thrux?

Thanks Runner. I plan on black powdercoat for the front wheel too, but it'll have to wait until next season. I've spent way too much money on this project thus far...

Gauge confusion? No way! I plan on a wideband O2 meter in the future as well.

Yes sir Ed, Oberon makes top notch stuff. I had some bits from them on my Ducati Monster. Pricey, by very well engineered.
You are correct on the preload adjustable caps, OEM Thruxton. Hopefully I can give this setup some seat time soon... Old man winter has been on my last nerve for some time now.
Take care, Jim

Nope. The Euro gaitors will only go on one way, trust me.
I hope you don't mind, but your Emgo short Megs got the best of me. I put a set on tonight... love'm! I think a really good baffle repack is in order, but they don't sound too bad straight out of the box.

Very nice Speedy MackDaddy. I follow your mods closely as you have tried lots of different things and the info you post here comes in handy.
Was wondering who made the seat and if it's made on a oem seat pan or not. Does the pan sit on the frame like oem with tall padding or is there some sort of built up riser it mounts on?
