Just saw AVP2...great flick! Gory of course, and unflinchingly callous and quite unpredictable when it comes to who gets snacked on. But the action is constant, keeps you on your toes. Picks up right at the end of the first AVP, no clumsy explanation, just straight into the story.
If you've seen the trailer, you know where it takes place...which definitely conveys a heebie/jeebie "oh crap they're loose" feeling.
A couple good laughs even - my favorite is when the guy yells to the others, "Get to the chopper!" - great "Predator"/Arnold reference.
More references to Weyland-Yutani (the Company) and the future as seen in the Alien/Aliens storyline. Not sure if they're planning another AVP - no
obvious loose ends ...be nice to see more if they can do it without being repetitive. I know there was a comic series, but I never read them.
Only annoying bit was Army people wearing Marine digital camo...but that's just me.
All in all...if you liked Aliens or Predator or the first AVP - go see it!
