Since I live in the US the Speedmaster and America still use the carburetor for 2008. Rumor has it that the US will receive their first fuel injected Speedmaster and America in 2009. How much of a difference will this make for the Speedmaster and America and is it worth it to put off buying one for anther year? Thank you.

The 61 PS (62 HP) is for the earlier engine before the EU and EPA made them detune the engine. The Euro fuel injected bikes have the same ratings as the carburetted ones. Later on when they get the system sorted and fine tuned, they might be able to return to decent valve timing and still meet emissions standards. But, for now, the main difference is that you get a very complicated mess of electronics that not only can't you mess with as easily, but you won't be able to fix it if it breaks.

According to the info I have recieved, we will be seeing fuel injection here in the US on all the parallel twins starting in July (as late '08 models)
