Good day,
Firstly I would like to say that after reading the various posts, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and friendliness that the members of this sight have. I’m in a personal debate on which model to choose from. At the various dealers in my area they have a black 2007 America and a black 2008 Speedmaster. I am trying to decide on which model to choose. The 2007 America is at a slightly reduced price and the 2008 Speedmaster is at full retail price. Both have various items that I like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you on your time and consideration on this subject, Merry Christmas everyone.

Pick the one that feels better when you sit on it or looks better to you. They are basicly the same bike. They have a few cosmetic differences and the Speedmaster has dual front discs. The riding position is different too Speedmaster is more aggressive and the America more a relaxed cruiser. It isn't hard to make one into the other so look at what you want and how much it would cost to make each into what you want in the end and go with the one that is easier and cheaper to tweek into your bike.

I looked at both and picked the America because I do more two-up riding with my wife and daughter. I know, you can put two up seats on the SM, but it seemed like sacrilege.

Sounds like you've investigated both bikes and it's really up to you to figure out which one best serves your needs. Both will be outstanding rides. You're down to features and aesthetics, both of which are very personal.

Down to your personal preference Ross, the money etc. Take into how each bike feels when you test ride it. If you like the chrome go for the America, if you like the blacked look of the speedy, then its the speedy, you can always upgrade the brakes as and when.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year..

I love the looks of my America, and even more with the TOR pipes. I'm sure what ever you buy, there will always be room for upgrades.

The difference that really matters is the seating position. Test ride both, or at least sit on them for several minutes, and buy the one that is most comfortable to you.
