Hi Everybody!

Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I just got back from the dealer where I bought a 2007 Blue & White America. Pickin' her up tomorrow. My first bike in 20 years (not since my little Yamaha 80 as a kid).

I have enjoyed the info on this site and I'll post pics when I download them.

I think we all have the DARK YEARS ( 25 to 45 ) when we don't ride . Lots of theories , it's just great at any age . Congrats and have a FUN Christmas !

I went 1 year without a bike and it was the longest year of my life. I had one but it was in pieces in my kitchen.

Actually, I probably rode more those years than any other.. young and poor is a perfect fit for a bike. Great gas mileage and, at least in Florida, you don't need any insurance like you do on a cage. Wasn't until I actually got a real job making real money that I could affort a nice vehicle to stay out of the rain in

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks for all the kind words. I've already read the entire Owner's Manual and can't wait to get to the store tomorrow morning and bring her home. I'm in Raleigh, NC. I can't wait to get in the saddle.

Awesome!!! The blue/white color combination is so beautiful. Get ready to hear alot of compliments. Enjoy and be sure to post often!!

Some advice, wait until the 600 mile service before removing the AI, changing the exhaust and other tweaking. Then let her roar!!!

Congrats on the new bike, welcome to the site.

I think there is a large group that stops 25 to 40ish, not all. Having kids does it for the most part. No money, free time, and the risk is re-considered with the added responsibility of the kids.

Sean,
Dude, PLEASE take a rider safety course...the MSF offers courses all around the country....I would hate for some moron to turn your newly found love into a tragedy, and you never get on a bike again...It happened to me in the late '80s...I had a brand new Honda, I made a bad assumption, and WHAM...right into the fender of a oldsmobile, over the hood, broken leg, and totalled Honda...I swore I would never ride again, until 3 years ago when I got another Honda, and now my America. Does'nt take but a split second, trust me..Now, although I have NOT had the course, I am 110% at all times on my bike, and have learned ALOT from others, mostly my wife, who has had the course. I have accumulated 22,000 miles on my new America now, but I don't EVER let my guard down...I have avoided numerous accidents, but never get complacent. Make the investment and prolong your enjoyment of your bike...You will be glad you did....This sport/hobby is the most dangerous in the world..to us, and we never forget it...

Sean,

I picked up a black 2007 TBA today. My first bike since a Cushmam Eagle in 1958. Looking forward to riding a two wheeler after all these years!!

Sean,
Congrats on getting the 07 America and welcome to the group Merry Christmas!

I can relate to your excitement. I went absent from riding for almost 40 years until the spring of this year when I got my Speedmaster. I get a smile on my face everytime I ride.

Bob

2003 Speedmaster I won't rise to the occasion, but I'll slide over to it.

Thanks for all the welcoming comments. She was dropped off at my house today and looks like the weather is going to be great tomorrow for her maiden journey.

b717doc, the wife made me take the MSF course before I could get it (actually took the Riders Edge version at the local Harley dealership). The course is great. I recommend it to anybody remotely thinking about a motorcycle. It was interesting taking it at a Harley dealership. They use it as a HUGE marketing tool to advertise their bikes.
