Got 'em on my '01 Bonnie and I like the retro look, however, I've turned the America into a much more bagger-esque look so they wouldn't right on it.

I'm also going to wrap my headers.

Great looking bike! I think they look better on the black forks than silver. I also think they look better on the Bonnies than Americas or Speedmasters.

Thanks. It's got a set of Norman Hyde rearsets and a fly screen on it right now to give it more of a cafe stance but I'm not so sure my geezer body fits it so well...I may go back to more of a '68 home model look before all's said and done. Sure is fun and two Triumphs is the ultimate indulgence around here so kudos really go to Mrs. T.
I apologize for the hijack, speedmastergirl.

I have gaiters on my America and love the look. Very retro. Just my opinion though.

I want to put them on my TBA. Not a big fan of the shrouds.

If I didn't already have my TBA dressed up and she was still lean and mean I'd gaiter her in a second (okay, so maybe it does take a couple of hours, what's your point?)...it just doesn't fit her current bagger and bars look.

I'll be the one to go against the grain here, I like the look of the stainless shrouds. I'm not going for retro though, so its all personal preference.

I think on the America and Speedy, the chrome shrouds look the best. They should have been chrome to begin with - especially on the America. I can't figure out why they did them in a dull stainless.

I think the gaiters look dowdy and clutter up the clean look of the front. If any thing, I think powdercoating the lower forks would look nice ( like a stock Bonnie ), and still be a clean look.

Funny thing is, I love chrome. ( I once offered to chrome my wife, but she just gave me a dirty look. ) But I actually prefer the stainless shrouds. And I think the gaiters look good on the bonnie, but I prefer the shrouds on the BA. The only thing I don't get at all is wrapping the pipes. But to each his own.

Well you wouldn't chrome the whole wife, just some of the accessories...
I've been pondering the idea of gaiters on the TA - might go powdercoat instead; I do know a place that does it for $50 (might do the header pipes too). Be nice if the forks came stock in chrome and not stainless, but hey it's something else I get to personalize.

Gaiter no, Chrome yes. I'd like to find a chrome shop and do the shrouds. But it's all in the beholder.

Personally I love gaiters. I think it makes a British bike look like it should. I remember when all Brits had them. I'm getting a BA and plan to remove the tins and replace them with gaiters.
