2004 Speedmaster.
AI removed.
TB Pipes.
Snorkel removed.
At idle the exhaust on the left side is stronger than the right.
The bike runs great.
Could the valves need adjusted?
Or this this normal?
4700 miles on the Bike.

Syncronize your carbs.
Carb syncing destructions this should get you started, not necessary to do it exactly as laid out, I went a little overboard in order to clearly explain all the techniques, can easily be done with tank on as well and with any other sync tool.

By the way....thanks Pat. I set my carbs up yesterday using my old Carb Stix and your instructions and it went well. Your website has been a great help to me and many others I'm sure. My gratitude.

I feel the same way, and my carbs are synched. I posted something about it, I think the thread is "diagnosing engines thru the exhaust" because I thought maybe I was hearing a valve or something. Someone' postulated that it may be the offset crank. Basically, with the crossover pipe and the 270 degree firing order, then the left side is getting a boost from the right side, thus sounding a bit sharper. Make sense? Synching the carbs is always a good thing@!

No, because if that were the case all speedys and americas would have the same problem. And that doesn't appear to be the case. Certainly not with mine.

Well then, let's get a bit more precise in diagnosing the "issue". We need more information, more is good, too little is not enough.

Dowop says that the exhaust is "stronger"... on one side.
Clarify that statement please:
Is it louder?
Is it popping more (on decel or idle)?
Is it smoking?
Does the pressure when you put your hand over the ends of each pipe feel the same?
Is it the same pressure when you totally plug one end with your hand?Is the color the same on both headers? (sorry if there is previous discussion on blueing (izzat that spelled write?), lots of that going around, too hard to keep track)

"Stronger", please definne in as many ways as possible.

Not busting on ya, really, give us as much info as you can dowop (are you Italian??, ohh, bad Pat, bad) to the actual problem you feel you are having.

Pat,
I have no popping on decel.
No blueing.
It doesnt seem to be louder.
The bike does not smoke.
I smoke a occasinal HAV-A - TAMPA.
The pressure at idle feels stronger on the left side when I put my hand over it.
No I am not Italian.
The name was suppose to be symbolic of some of the late 50`s & 60`s music.
But I mispelled it.
I meant for the username to be Doowop.

2004 Speedmaster.
AI Removed.
TB Exhaust.
Snorkel removed.
17t front sprocket.
Dyno reading about 1 month ago =64.1hp.
Joined the Ton up club yesterday with a indicated 112mph.

Naw, I'm here, just been busy today.
It sounds like there is just a slight difference in the pipes themselves. As long as it is running strong, don't sweat it.
