Maybe I should get away from this mapping software but the eastern most point of continental North America might be a nice ride idea. Just throwing it out there. I think it works out to about 2500 miles from Chicago to St. John's. C'mon, bring it on: thoughts, comments, ideas, whatever. Me, I gotta credit Mr. Wojo and li'l " m " with putting these kind of ideas in my head. The going north in the summer thing is freaking brilliant to me. (Of course this map goes through Amherstburg, ON: Fingerlakes region, NY: New London, Ct. and various other places that perhaps some BA.com members might reside. I assure you that was a completely and totally utter coincidence. Really!!! )

Don't think I can do the whole ride. But if you are doing it keep me posted. I can definitely hook up for a couple a few hundred miles or so.Maybe spend a day riding north and the next back.I'm sure there are others that could do the same.
My mind and body are still out of tune
I hope they run into each other real soon "

That is without doubt, a beautiful ride... When Jill and I got married, for our honeymoon we went to Bar Harbor Maine, took the ferry to Nova Scotia and then worked our way up the east coast and continued to Prince Edward Island. We originally had planned to go on to Newfoundland, but there was so much to see and so much fun to be had that we ran out of time. We came back through New Brunswick on a very similar route to what you have on the map. Friendly people, great food and for the most part good roads.

well near as I can tell you got then going up 495 to 95 thru MA and NH to ME from CT...I would humbly suggest that from CT you go up 140 to 110 to 111 all the way to rt 1A on the NH/ME boarder (also past my house)

I'd be in. Either going or returning could be across at bar harbour and up the Annapolis valley.

I lived in the maritimes for a couple of years but I`ve only been to nfld once. One of the places we went was Trinity, maybe the oldest continuously occupied european settlement, dating from the 1400`s. Newfoundland generally is not such a pretty place, more stark and magnificent. I could easily imagine europeans coming to the shore in summer and thinking they had found paradise until the winter swept in. The settlers that stuck it out in places like trinity were tough in the extreme.

Rob's humble suggestion is a very good one- 495 is just boring slab that is constantly being repaved.

Again, folks, you take my initial map much, much too literally. This is a concept. If you know me, I use a map to get ideas on where to go, not necessarily on the how to get there. Any improvisation before during or after is always welcome in my book. don't know about you folks, but if you always continue to stay within the lines you will find you will find yourself on some very boring motorcycle trips. I am a bit more of the adventurer in that I use a map like this to point me towards a goal and then try to be as free flowing about it as possible as long as I can reach my goal in the time i have. Heck, even if i don't reach the end goal but have a blast along the way is more what i am about. So, relax, have a drink and we can talk about how things will actually work as time moves along. Heck, haven't even set a date to do this thing if it is gonna happen at all. Just kicking around ideas that i might be able to do this year. Don't think i will have time for the arctic circle trip this year so just kicking some tires, so to speak.
