I'm not a fan of rap music. Heavy Metal is more my speed.

But.

Do you notice the similarity between what you're saying about rap and what they said about rock-n-roll in the beginning? (ie:That's not music, how can you listen to that crap, every song is about the same thing, etc.)
My Dad told me Grandpa said the same thing about Count Basie and Duke Ellington.

Rap is music, it's the way many of this generation express themselves, some rap has quite a lot to say.
Yes, most rap is chauvinistic and degrading to women, but no more so than Ted Nugent "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", Rod Stewart "Stay With Me", or Dion "The Wanderer".

But it's not not my cuppa tea. I'm off to listen to some Motorhead.
