A shop in town quoted me a price of $253 for a set of Metzlers not counting the $70 to mount and balanceand 9% tax. Isn't that a little steep??? The same shop said for Dunlops which, he said were "middle of the road" as far a grip and wear, was $233.58 for everything. I don't think he even carries Avon. Dare I go to the Dealer??

That sounds reasonable in New Jersey. My tires are Avon and I remember paying more. Try one more shop and compare.

Keep shopping. You can get them delivered to your door for right at $200 from SW Moto Tire. Find a local independent shop to mount them.

My bike came with the metzlers as standard.....seams like thats not the case with everyone.
I have avons azaros on my sprint and they are great, really sticky and long lasting too! good in the wet as well. Hope avon do decent ones for the speedmaster!
