Dave,
We (me and my wife Kimmy) also fell for the America a couple years ago, and thought we could'nt afford it either. I was lucky, I guess, and checked out the company credit union. We are from the "back woods" I guess you could say, as far as financial institution knowledge, so I paid them a visit, took them the price and location of the bike, and in like 10 minutes they had me a check for my new America. That is the happiest I have been since a childhood Christmas. The credit union here in Atlanta had lost most of the Northwest Airline mechanics due to the maintenance base being shut down at Hartsfield, they lost thousands of accounts. With me being a 10 year airline veteran for another airline here in the ATL...they jumped on it, and financed both bikes (we got Kimmy's through them too) at like 4% apr through payroll deduction...They simply did'nt care about credit history, status, or anything else. We got a tremendous deal on both bikes, and we, as a family enjoy them more than any other family activity. If you can become a member of a local Credit Union, they are far better than any other source, and will make it happen...My bike will be paid off soon, and Kimmy's will soon follow. Now they want us to buy a new car through them, and as soon as I need one, I will go through them again....good luck and keep us posted...
