I have a question for getting through Minneapolis/St. Paul. In a week, I'll be headed out across the Great Prairee of E. MT and Nort Dakota. Been through the "cities" numerous times, but is it better on I-694 or I-94 downtown?

Being a simple minded country boy, I generally take the belt way, put the truck on cruise control at a steady 35 mph, pull my hat over my ears, close my eyes tight and miraculously end up at the Mississippi River. Getting off the beltway back onto I-94 can be a real leap of faith. Depending on time of day, I actually like the downtown way better, old architecture etc. Last time I went that way, everything was under destruction and it took 3 1/2 weeks to come out the other side.
