I had my signals bolted thru the strut/fender holes with the wire going undernieth by the previous owner. The tire eventually wore the wires thru because my bike was lowered and there was barely any space between the fender and the tire.

What I did was just drill holes thru the strut and bolted the signals right to it. Then I just ran the wires behind the strut and under the seat. In fact i drilled the hole right next to the fender bolts so the blinker looks almost exactly like it was bolted through the fender bolt hole. Plus i didnt have to go thru the trouble of running the wire up under the fender and worrying about it.

you can sorta see it in this picture...looks exactly like theyre bolted thru the fender bolts.
