I used the pillion rack a lot before I got my tall sissybar and luggage rack. When swapping between the pillion seat and rack I managed to scratch the crap out of my fender back by the rearmost bolt hole. So be careful.

To clarify: I scratched my fender with the bracket from the pillion seat. The little rubber feet under the pillion rear bracket didn't last long and I bought some rubber washers to go between the bracket and fender.

If you're running a single seat on a Speedmaster, you need to have the slotted solo seat bolt that came stock on the America (or an aftermarket version like the one from Newspeedmaster.com).
