Granted I switched to an 18 tooth front sprocket a few years ago, but at least in my case where I was in 3rd, now I'm in 2nd, 5th - 4th etc. I like the "new" fifth gear for motoring down the straightaways. Although I admit to forgetting it's there sometimes.

I coincidentally installed a tach around the same time as my 18 T sprocket and hence learned where my redline really was. It's not just a different gearing, it's a different perspective all together!
