Has anyone used a Haynes repair manual to work on their Triumph and if so is it worth buying for my America?

The Haynes manual is pretty good, never had to use it as yet except for the shim size etc, but worth every penny..

I have the Haynes and Triumph's shop manual. I'm a learning wrencher and the Haynes was a big help with more details and pictures. I like having both, but it I could only have one, it would be the Haynes.

I'm sure this has been asked before but that manual is for year 2001-2005 and smaller engine. What about us 865cc 2007 TBA owners?

I'm sure the only difference in the 790cc and the 865cc engines is the bore and stroke.

The book covers the '05 865 Speedmaster which is the same as what's in the TA now. Any thing referring to the engine or tires & wheels, use the 865 Speedmaster info. The front counter sprocket is the only significant change I'm aware of. I think they both have an 18T now (07 & later).

If you can manage it, get both the Haynes and factory manuals. The Haynes has better pictures that are useful for figuring out how things go together, but some of the specifications aren't so accurate as the Triumph manual and that can cause you problems.

I went to buy a Haynes manual earlier in the year to help on general stuff for my new TBA.. The guy at Haynes said they wern't doing a 2005-07 version because as mentioned earlier, the only difference is bore/stroke. I've not seen anything missing or different in the manual yet.
Funny though, the retailer who phoned Haynes up said, in his opinion Haynes wouldn't update the manual for '08 versions coz they we're busy writing the one for the 1500....

I ordered a copy of the Haynes manual from the site listed in 77T140V posting. I just received it and it does cover '01 to '07 bikes, Speedies, America, Bonnie, T-100 Thruxton and Scambler.
