My bet is the reporter aired it to show how public servants occasionally choose to act when they think the public won't find out.

Hey Rev! Why are you draggin' SENATOR CRAIG into all this, HUH?! (OR, in the recent past...BILL CLINTON, I suppose???)

Look! That's just the point(in a way) here. NEITHER a public servant's personal life, be it a senator's possible secret gay life, or a former president's fondness for heavy women in blue dresses, OR some poor guy rolling his car...IS REAL NEWS!!!

REAL NEWS should consist of telling of the BILLIONS of dollars in DOONDOGGLES the people where you live in the beltway saddle us taxpayers with, year in and year out...or maybe why there might be the lack of any REAL DEBATES in this coming election("Do you believe that this book is the direct word of God?"...what kind of a stupid friggin' question is THAT in a political debate??? I thought OUR CONSTITUTION SAID that there was to be NO RELIGIOUS TEST to hold any office in this country, which BTW none of the G.O.P. candidates had the GUTS to point out when asked, and which the Media failed to underscore or even note!!!) , or maybe even the PARTISANSHIP that's run amuck in this country because of self-interest across the board, both on the Left AND on the Right, OR etc, etc. etc, etc, etc, etc.

THIS IS REAL JOURNALISM.

And, your premise that if Matt played the "good little public servant" and would have just did his best Jack Webb impression("Just the facts, Ma'am!", "Thank you for your interest, but please move along!") could more readily bring about a change in the Media, which knows the public's appetite for the sorrid little stories of the world that the Media KNOWS the public craves, and then would/could be more inclined to practice real journalism and lift the collective consciousness, is a bit of a stretch, wouldn't you say?

Nope! Nothing he would have said, either politely OR sarcastically, is going to change THAT, so I say, you might as well make your point to them as strongly as possible.(sarcasm is a very good "medium" for this, you know)

(bottom line: I like sarcastic people because they at least attempt to "tell it like it is" without sugar-coating it for the masses who NEED TO WAKE UP!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
