I know I don't live in a part of the country with a real winter ~~ been there, done that. But nonetheless, I road the bike this morning and it was cold ~~ brrr.

You may want to look into heated clothing. It can make a huge difference.

Oh yeah, Rev! I'm "sure" all the folks in Minnesota, Wisconsin and all other points north, who have drained all the gas out of their carbs and taken the batteries out of their bikes to hook 'em up to chargers for a next few months, are feelin' REAL sorry for you right now!!!  (They're probably thinking "Fresno California" should really be called "FREEZE? NO! California", dude!)

My gosh it was.....it is only getting to 61 here today..good thing I have the Gerbings heated vest and gloves........brrrrrrr!!!

You and me both. When the temp drops to the point that i have to wear long sleaves, bonnie goes into hybernation mode. My bike is nicely parked up on her carpet with a nice warm blanket over here. Though i will pull her out every few weeks just to start her up and run her for a while. A quick 20 minute ride around town gets her blood pumping.

I put 40 miles on the bike today. clear and crisp in the 40s... I'm glad i got gerbing heated jacket liner and heated pants. I was pretty toasty on the back roads, but anything faster than 65 my face was getting cold...

28 F when I left here this morning (18 miles) and 60 F when I came home this afternoon. I don't mind the cold (although 28 is the lower limit) but this time of year is fun because you have to bundle up in the morning and then strap all that stuff down in the afternoon.

Gerbring has competition now. FirstGear has a really nice line of heated gear. Prices are a tad better than Gerbring...

AWFUL , just AWFUL , today the temp got up to 65 and the wind chill made it.......65 .  Yeah , but we DO have the bugs and heat in summer . OK , we're even .

I had planned on getting my brother to help me put the bike into the basement after thanksgiving dinner. But, after all that food and all those beers we decided that this weekend would be better. The weather got up into the mid 40's Sunday afternoon, so I went for a ride. After @ 30 miles though, I was pretty cold. And I did notice that I tended to keep my speed in the lower 60's. Ahh well. It beats the snow that is now in the forecast...

mind boggles at what you mean. it takes 2 of you to get your bike into the basement ! one of you on each wheel. ha ha .dont have many basements over here.still sounds a good idea, bit like putting a tortiose in a box away for hihbnation for the winter. anyway take care doing it . roll on spring

Rev, I have an Aunt who lives (lived)in Fresno - she's probably long gone by now, and one of my childhood memories is her calling my Dad/her brother one winter and telling him rather excitedly "It's snowing!". A few weeks later we received some Polaroid pictures in the mail depicting her and her husband and my 2 cousins frolicking in what appeared to be about 1/2 inch of snow..... Meanwhile, back in the real world, we had a daily barrage of the stuff for several weeks... Cold? Cold is when you worry about your water pipes freezing even though your furnace is still running.....

The official current internet posted local temp (probably measured at the airport about 2 miles from here) is 27F. It's warming up, might go for a ride today!

It's about 37 - 39 degrees when I leave in the morning. But ride home is really nice ~~ between 60 - 63 degrees.
I like living in a place that I can pretty much ride year round. January and February are a little cold ~~ and July and August are a little warm ~~ but the rest of the year is fine.

Yeah... we really feel sorry for you! Anyway.... check these guys out... they ride big time, and their stuff is first class. I stopped at their house near San Diego to try on my heated liner to make sure it fit. Good thing too, the one I ordered was too small. They made sure I got the right size and the controls I needed for my Harley. And yes, I have my Speedy wired too. Sure made a world of difference when the temps dropped! You must follow their directions about how to layer. You only need a lightweight long sleeved shirt, then the electric liner, then your jacket. When it was really cold (it was starting to snow) I put a fleece pullover over the liner under my leathers. Nice and toasty!
